My experience with multimillion dollar companies began on the retail sales floor. My resume includes in-store Sales and Operations Manager as well as corporate level Purchaser, Marketing Manager and eCommerce Director of Marketing.

Over the years, I have dealt with some of best known internet marketing agencies in the world. Most of them were, technically, very good at what they do. However, there was a common problem with all of them. They just did not understand our business at all. They were great at numbers, reports and charts, but they just didn’t “get it.”

One last thing, not every business needs to jump on the “latest” marketing strategy. The local funeral home probably won’t be getting a lot of followers on Twitter or check ins with Foursquare. Even with the basics like Facebook and Google+, the return on investment is usually directly related to implementing and managing them correctly.
